2026 Breeders' Cup Post Positions, Fields and Morning Lines

Every 2026 Breeders' Cup race at Keeneland, Oct. 30-31: post positions, jockeys, trainers, morning-line odds and draw notes, from the Juvenile Turf Sprint to the Classic.

The draw for the 2026 Breeders' Cup World Championships was held Monday, Oct. 26. Below are post positions, jockeys, trainers and morning-line odds for all 14 Grade 1 races at Keeneland, run Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31. It is the fourth time Keeneland has hosted the Breeders' Cup (2015, 2020, 2022). The two days carry more than $34 million in purses and awards, and 186 horses were entered, 62 of them from outside the U.S.

Friday is Future Stars Friday, five races for 2-year-olds. Saturday has nine races and closes with the $7 million Classic. Post times are Eastern. Morning lines are the track oddsmaker's estimate, not the betting, and scratches and also-eligibles can change fields before race day. Always confirm with the official program.

Friday: Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint

5 1/2 furlongs, turf, 2-year-olds, $1 million. Post time 2:55 p.m. ET.

Also-eligibles (run only if scratches open a spot): Ruiva (12-1), Wood Island (15-1), Adonius (12-1), Love a Warrior (30-1), Fanshell Beach (30-1).

Morning-line favorite Libertango (5-2) and second choice Brickyard Belle (3-1) drew side by side in posts 3 and 4, inside the 12-horse field. At 5 1/2 furlongs there is little time to recover ground, so the outside draws (11 and 12) face the longest trip. Five also-eligibles are listed and would only draw in if horses scratch.

Friday: Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies

1 1/16 miles, dirt, 2-year-old fillies, $2 million. Post time 3:35 p.m. ET.

Favorite Emphatic (9-5) drew post 10 of 12, while second choice Miss Monica (5-2) is in the middle at post 5. At 1 1/16 miles on the Keeneland dirt, the start comes shortly before the first turn, so outside horses like Emphatic need to either break sharply or be taken back and saved ground.

Friday: Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf

1 mile, turf, 2-year-old fillies, $1 million. Post time 4:15 p.m. ET.

Heavy favorite Sun Goddess (6-5) drew post 9 and second choice Amusingly (7-2) is right beside her in post 10. Sun Goddess comes in off a win in the Cheveley Park, and HRN notes this will be her first race beyond seven furlongs. Green Empress, the Prix Marcel Boussac winner, has the rail.

Also-eligibles (run only if scratches open a spot): Popcorn (20-1).

Favorite How's Al Today (3-1) has a good middle draw in post 5. Aidan O'Brien runs four, and his main hope by morning line, Great Barrier Reef (4-1), drew the far outside post 14. In a full one-mile turf race, a wide draw makes it harder to save ground on the first turn.

Saturday: Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint

7 furlongs, dirt, fillies and mares 3 and up, $1 million. Post time 1:10 p.m. ET.

Favorite Bacio (5-2), who won the Nunthorpe, drew post 3, and Comanche Brave (3-1), who won the Flying Five, is in post 7. That puts the two European Group 1 sprint winners in the inside half of the gate. Defending champion Shisospicy is in post 2, Cy Fair in post 10 and Starlust in post 13.

The top two in the morning line both drew outside: Blue Bolt (5-2) in post 12 and Precise (7-2) in post 11. In a 15-horse race around two turns, outside horses usually have to give up ground or position early. Note: one published field lists Vina Arana in both this race and the Mile. Check official scratches and program numbers on race day.

Odds-on favorite Englishman (4-5) drew the far outside post 13. In a six-furlong sprint, an outside post lets a horse see the speed inside it without getting shuffled back, but if it gets caught wide on the turn it gives up ground. Japan's T O Elvis (7-2) is right beside him in post 11.

Defending champion Notable Speech (7-5) drew post 8, right in the middle. Aidan O'Brien's pair, True Love (12) and Puerto Rico (14), drew outside, and Lake Forest (6-1) has an inside spot in post 2. One published field lists Vina Arana as post 15 here as well as in the Filly & Mare Turf. Treat that entry as unconfirmed until the official program is out.

The favorites drew wide. Diamond Necklace (3-1) is in post 12 and Bay City Roller (5-1) is in post 13. At 1 1/2 miles there is more time to work out a trip than in the shorter turf races. Defending champion Ethical Diamond has the rail.

Defending champion Forever Young (2-1) drew post 5 as he tries to become the second back-to-back Classic winner, after Tiznow (2000-01). Horse of the Year Sovereignty (5-2) is in post 2 and 2026 Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo (5-1) is in post 3. It is the first Classic with two Derby winners since 1991. One handicapping outlet pointed out that the three likeliest pace horses, Magnitude, Knightsbridge and Napoleon Solo, drew side by side in posts 6, 7 and 8, which could set up a contested early pace outside the favorites.
